2009 Box Hill Masters (FIDE Rated) Tournament

Note: Due to overwhelming demand, a second (B-Division) tournament will also be played on the same nights under the same conditions (outlined below).

Expressions of interest are requested from players wishing to participate in a Box Hill Chess club organised FIDE rated round robin tournament to be held at the club from July 22nd to September 30th

Playing dates:  July 21, 28, August 4, 18, 25, September 1, 15, 22 & 29
Note: The club is closed on August 11 and on September 8.
Prize fund:  First $100 Second $50
Players:     Player selection by invitation following expressions of interest.
Min. 4 FIDE rated players, max. 6 non FIDE rated players.
Starting time:  Tuesdays 7.45 PM sharp.
Rate of Play:  90 minutes per game + 30 sec. per move from move 1
Note: with this time-control the player is obliged to score until the end.
Entry fees:  Fee for FIDE rated BHCC and CJCC members $40
Fee for non-FIDE rated BHCC and CJCC members $50
Fee for FIDE rated non BHCC or CJCC members $50
Fee for non-FIDE rated non BHCC or CJCC members $60
Ratings:  All games will be ACF and FIDE rated.
Note that it is an absolute requirement for the ratings that
all games are played and no forfeits can be given or received.
Postponements: Postponements should be arranged between players and can be played at the club on the club closed nights, but the arbiter must be informed at all times.
All postponed games must be played before the final round and players unable to attend the final round must play the game in advance

Tournament: A 10 player round robin tournament, with players position in the draw decided by lot
Ballot: The ballot for numbers in the draw will be held on Sunday July 12 after the completion of the Sunday tournament. Players are welcome to attend, but are not required to be there.
Disputes: In case of a dispute the president of the Club will appoint a disputes committee
