Novice Invitation

Whitehorse Junior Chess runs beginner coaching classes for young chess players at the Box Hill Chess Club on Tuesdays from 6:00pm. We want to encourage the participation in chess by local school children and so, to promote our coaching group, we organised a free chess tournament on Tuesday the 14th of August.  Subsequent events have a small entry fee.

2001 School Teams

The aim of this competition is to promote chess in primary schools and provide children with an enjoyable experience whilst learning at the same time. This year it is structured as two independent one day events. Schools submit teams in one or more of these events.

Queens and Rookies Cups

Chess Ideas has arranged for Whitehorse Junior Chess to organise these two allegro competitions.  The Queens Cup is open to girls only while the Rookies Cup is open to all players.
