Established in 1952, Box Hill Chess Club is one of Victoria’s largest and most active suburban chess clubs. We welcome players of all ages and skill levels, offering regular rated tournaments and opportunities for players to compete and improve in a friendly club environment.

THE HISTORY OF OUR CLUB
Box Hill Chess Club was founded in 1952, with its first meetings held at Box Hill Town Hall. The club began with a small group of local chess enthusiasts and quickly established regular competition before moving to the Irving Avenue Tennis Pavilion in 1954.
